Thought I would take a day trip to the famous UNESCO world heritage archaeological site of Taxila.  The ruins date from different periods well before the Buddhist period. I didn’t have the concentration to sort all of that out. The museum has an impressive collection of statues (mostly Buddhist) and artifacts. It was exhausting though cycling there and visiting the sites in the midday heat. I only managed 2, plus the museum.

It was all bereft of tourists- how nice…….except for a 3 busload group of Polish tourists being shepherded around.

I was surprised to see Aramaic writing on this stone tablet in the museum.

. .
Also from the museum….

This is a paan wala in Islamabad. I’m not too sure he appreciated it when I good-naturedly told him he looked like a Hindu.
